15 Days Steps of St. Paul and Martin Luther in Italy – Oberammergau
With Naples – Amalfi Coast – Pompei – Rome – Arezzo – Florence – Venice – Innsbruck – Neuschwanstein – Oberammergau – Munich

DAY 1: 

Arrive Fiumicino airport (FCO) Rome – Naples. Meet the local tour manager who will stay with the group for the entire tour. The coach will take you to Naples, passing by the Foro Appio near Latina and the Archeological Site of Puteoli. Check-in at the hotel, dinner, overnight.

DAY 2:

Naples – Amalfi Coast. After breakfast, you leave Naples southbound for a panoramic drive through the breathtaking Amalfi Coast. Stopover in Amalfi. Return back to Naples, dinner in a typical pizzeria. Overnight.

DAY 3:

Naples – Pompeii – Mount Vesuvius – Rome. After breakfast, you will enjoy a guided tour of Pompeii. Afterwards, the coach will take you to the Mount Vesuvius. In the afternoon, you will leave for Rome. Check-in at the hotel, dinner, overnight.

DAY 4:

Rome – Vatican. Three days of sightseeing in Rome are waiting for you. Today you start with St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums including the Sistine Chapel , Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Wall, Three Fountains Abbey Complex, Catacombs of Santa Domitilla. Time permitting you will also see the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano/Scala Santa and Piazza Martin Lutero, Return to the hotel, dinner, overnight.

DAY 5:

Rome. This is another day with many sights. We focus on Ancient Rome (Circus Maximus, Forum, Coliseum, Mamertine Prison, Arc of Constantine, Palatine Hills, Pantheon ) You pay a visit to the Basilica di Sant’ Agostino. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6:

The last day in Rome still has so many other sights to offer: Insula di San Paolo alla Regola – Church of Santa Prisca – Basilica Parrocchiale Santa Maria del Popolo – Trevi Fountain – Spanish Steps. Return to the hotel, dinner, overnight.

DAY 7:

Arezzo – Florence. After an early breakfast you will head northwards. First stop is in Arezzo, where you will admire the Augustinian Church. Your trip continues to Florence. Start your visit of the town with a visit of The Galleria dell’ Accademia, with Michelangelo’s David. Then explore the Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore and climb on the Campanile Tower, see the Baptistry; check-in at the hotel. Dinner in a typical restaurant. Overnight.

DAY 8: 

Florence. Today you will visit two other of the awesome museums in Florence: the Galleria degli Uffizi, near the Pizza della Signoria, as well as Pitti Palace, and in the end also the Convent of San Marco (Girolamo Savonarola). Enjoy dinner in a typical restaurant. Overnight in Florence.

DAY 9:

Venice. You will leave Florence after some leisure in Florence and head further north to Venice. Check-in at your hotel, dinner, overnight.

DAY 10:

After breakfast, take a private vaporetto to the island and meet the local guide who will you help discover the main sights of Venice: Piazza San Marco – St Mark’s Basilica – Doges Palace.

DAY 11: 

Venice – Innsbruck – Old Town. After breakfast, you will continue your trip northwards and leave Italy after a stop in the city of love, Verona. In the afternoon, departure for Innsbruck. You cross the Alps at the spectacular Brenner Autobahn to Austria. Dinner and overnight: Innsbruck.

DAY 12:

Neuschwanstein Castle. Leave Austria this morning and make your way to Oberammergau. On your way is Neuschwanstein Castle, the most photographed location in the world and the inspiration for Disney’s Cinderella Castle that we all know so well. We will tour the castle and to see the architectural fairytale for ourselves.  Dinner and overnight: Schwangau.

DAY 13:

Oberammergau. This is the day where you enjoy the original Passion Play, held every ten years, and performed by the inhabitants of Oberammergau. It’s a short drive to Oberammergau in the morning where you will check in to our hotel and have a light lunch before the Passion Play starts in the afternoon. Dinner will be included in a break of the performance. Dinner and overnight: Oberammergau or neighboring village.

DAY 14:

Munich. Freising we stop in Munich and join a local guide for a walking tour of the Bavarian capital. Our visit includes the historic Glockenspiel on the Marienplatz (Mary’s Plaza), the revered twin-towered Frauenkirche (Our Lady’s Church), the most familiar landmark of old Munich, and more.

DAY 15:

With memories of an unforgettable trip you will return to the USA.
